Caribou is looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our founding team. We're looking for someone that loves their craft and wants to be part of a small, ambitious and fast-moving group.

About Caribou

Healthcare is currently the biggest financial concern for Americans. There is no foreseeable change in rising healthcare costs and financial advisors are experiencing market pressure to adopt new solutions to differentiate themselves. That's where Caribou comes in: we help financial advisors plan for and navigate the complexities of healthcare to expand their offerings and build stronger client relationships.

Our team is fully distributed and we like to hang out digitally (not only because of COVID, but because we're literally all over the world .. Canada, US, France, and Argentina). We do our best to chill, have fun, and let off steam either by playing Among Us (and other games) or just having lunch / dinner together to get to know each other better.

About You

• A strong self-starter who wants to make an impact
• You love the craft of software engineering and take deep pride in the code you write and systems you design
• Strong written communication skills
  • You’re comfortable writing long-form and detailed documentation
  • You are meticulous in the way you write; taking care of grammatical structure when you draft technical documents such as RFCs as well as take into consideration your readers who may not have the same context (or experience) as you
• Strong oral communication and empathy
  • You enjoy working with peers and sharing information and are aware that everyone has both strengths and weaknesses
  • You love collaborating, bouncing ideas around with your peers and seeking to find solid solutions, without concern for who may be “right” or who may be “wrong”
• You have a history of developing solutions to challenging problems, taking into consideration tradeoffs between various approaches and implementations
• You’ve been in the web development industry for 2+ years
• Deeply curious
  • You seek to dive deep into technical matters, or have an interest in a particular area of software engineering or computer science
  • You don’t just rush into solving something with the first approach that pops into your head
• Experience with Cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Experience in frontend development with ReactJS
• Experience in backend development with NodeJS, ExpressJS, TypeScript and MySQL
